HEALTH EDUCATOR

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Assess the health needs of the people and communities they serve. Develop programs and events to teach people about health topics. Teach people how to manage existing health conditions. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and educational materials. Help people find health services or information. Provide training programs for community health workers or other health professionals. Supervise staff who implement health education programs. Collect and analyze data to learn about a particular community and improve programs and services. Advocate for improved health resources and policies that promote health

EDUCATION/DEMAND:

Health educators need at least a bachelor’s degree in health education or health promotion. Students learn theories and methods of health behavior and health education and gain the knowledge and skills they will need to develop health education materials and programs. Most programs include an internship.Some health educator positions require a master’s or doctoral degree. Graduate programs are commonly in community health education, school health education, public health education, or health promotion. A variety of undergraduate majors may be acceptable for entry to a master’s degree program.Community health workers typically have a high school diploma, although some jobs may require postsecondary education. Education programs may lead to a 1-year certificate or a 2-year associate’s. degree and cover topics such as wellness, ethics, and cultural awareness.

RIGHT

This is an interesting because it puts you in the spotlight in a way. Sure we should stand up for the right but people will judge you either way so what's the point now don't get me wrong standing up for the right is good but also bad. Let's say you are walking down the street and you see a lady get mugged by a guy with a gun i wouldn't do anything. It's not that i'm scared but because i could die i'd rather let another family cry but not mine. Now it's good to stand up for the right but sometimes you can't no matter how much you want to. Now in certain things you can like if someone offers you drugs. But that's about it maybe if you did something wrong and feel bad about that too but that's it. In this world their is unbelievably sick people and many of them are ctw people.

‘‘Goal setting is goal getting set and get’’

To me this means that if you set goals it's easier to achieve them. For example if i set my goal to be a lawyer i will do anything a can to make that happen. Now, set and get i kinda disagree because most people as kids ‘’set’’ and sometimes they don't ‘’get’’. But, overall it's a really interesting quote almost like the one my mom tells me ‘’querer es poder’’ which translates to ‘’wanting is achieving’’. I don't personally know Mr.Hanson but he seems like a guy that knows a lot. I honestly can't relate because I honestly don't have goals. I know it's sad to say but yeah it's true i can't relate and i know i can change that. And, i'm almost certain I can but anyways thats not the point.

Christopher Columbus

Explorer and navigator Columbus was born in 1451, in the Republic of Genoa (Italy) to the son of a weaver. Columbus first went to sea as a teenager, participating in several trading voyages in the Mediterranean and Aegean seas. One such voyage, to the island of Khios, in modern day Greece, brought him the closest he would come to Asia. His first voyage into the Atlantic Ocean in 1476 nearly cost him his life as the commercial fleet he was sailing with was attacked by French privateers off the coast of Portugal. His ship was burned and Columbus had to swim to the Portuguese shore and make his way to Lisbon, Portugal, where he eventually settled and married Felipa Perestrello. The couple had one son, Diego in about 1480. His wife died soon after and Columbus moved to Spain. He had a second son Fernando who was born out of wedlock in 1488 with Beatriz Enriquez de Arana. Columbus participated in several other expeditions to Africa gaining knowledge of the Atlantic currents flowing east and west from the Canary Islands. Muslim domination of the trade routes through the Middle East makes travel to India and China difficult. Believing a route sailing west across the Atlantic would be quicker and safer, Columbus devised a plan to sail west to get reach the East. He estimated the earth to be a sphere about 63% its actual size and the distance between the Canary Islands and Japan to be about 2,300 miles. Many contemporary nautical experts disagreed, adhering to the second century BC estimate of the earth's circumference at 25,000 miles. This made the distance between the Canary Islands and Japan about 12,200 statute miles. While experts disagreed with Columbus on matters of distance, they concurred that .
